To the Holy Land details the day-to-day experiences, and the challenges and turmoil, leading up to the life-changing experience of forming part of the 2023 pilgrimage. The story starts from the time the fateful SMS was received, confirming accreditation for the 2023 pilgrimage, and continues in detailing the sequence of events that led up to that day.

It is a frank personal experience of someone battling to find themselves, and questioning their faith, up to the fateful day of 6 February 2023,when accreditation for pilgrimage was confirmed.

The book sets a background for how personal tribulations led to the registration to perform the pilgrimage in seeking answers to the purpose of life, and why it is that one lives life the way one does. The journey is detailed on a daily basis through the days of pilgrimage, expressing the expectations and what transpired from the time of departure until return. The story also details the expectations of the pilgrim for the remainder of his life.

It is a simple story of a son, a brother, a husband, a father, wanting to connect with his family and sharing his pilgrimage experience with the hope that it assists and enhances improved relations with them. It is not the work you do that matters most, but what the work does for you – and writing this book assisted in realising the responsibility on one’s shoulders post pilgrimage.
