Michael Mouse is an adventurous derring do mouse who cannot pass up the opportunity for an adventure. He embarks on his first escapade with his good friend Cedric, a wise owl who (for the most part) keeps Michael's adventurous spirit in check whilst at the same time appreciating that the only way to help Michael to grow and to become more worldly is to let him bump his head occasionally.

The first story in the series sees Michael and Cedric setting off on an epic trek to find out whether there is any truth to the tale that a pot of gold lies at the end of every rainbow. It's a roller coaster ride from beginning to end as this unlikely pair make their way through often hostile situations, survive a few close encounters, learning a lot about themselves and that true wealth is not necessarily measured in riches.

Written by Michael Matthews, stunningly beautiful illustrations by his brother Peter truly bring Michael Mouse's first tale to life. It has particular bedtime appeal for little people between about three and seven years old and is easily read and understood by younger children. It's ultimate message is clear and unmistakeable, and one which any child would do well to remember and carry into their adulthood.
