When rising defence lawyer Chelsea Turner takes on a high-profile murder case, she expects a challenging trial. What she doesn’t expect is to discover that her client, the successful businessman Joel Radebe, has a haunting link to her own childhood tragedy - a politically motivated bombing in 1988 which radically changed the course of her life. Struggling with a deep personal conflict, Chelsea steps back from leading the defence, but her instincts tell her there’s more to the case than meets the eye.
Her colleague, Kaylin Adams, takes over the lead, unaware that she too is more connected to the past than she realises. As the two women unravel the threads of the present-day murder, they are forced to confront buried histories, shifting loyalties, and the murky line between justice and revenge.
