Afrikaans:
English:
The Turning Point is the heartbreaking story of Dawie, a young man who gives up the love and nurturing of his parents for the sake of his self-preservation and emotional well-being. And of Rabia, a young woman who loses her own personality out of ignorance and defenselessness for the sake of her respect for parental authority and her faith in Allah. Likewise, it is the tragic story of fathers who do not realize that they are alienating their children and, all under their leadership, from them, whether with well-intentioned love or well-intentioned intransigence of parents who abuse their position of authority against children and consequently leave them with lifelong emotional scars. The reader also gets a glimpse into the peaceful way of life of Muslims in the Cape.
